The South African music industry is mourning the loss of a trailblazer, a visionary, and a devoted servant of the Lord. Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule, the founder of the prestigious Crown Gospel Music Awards and a beloved Ukhozi FM radio personality, has passed away after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

With a heavy heart, her husband, Bishop Nkambule, shared the news of her passing, saying, "It is with a heavy heart that we the Nkambule and Mbokazi family announce the passing of our dearly Ms Zanele Mbokazi Nkambule... She departed to be with the Lord, early hours of 12 August 2024, at Parklands Hospital."

Zanele's remarkable life was a testament to her unwavering dedication to her faith, her family, and her community. Through her groundbreaking work with the Crown Gospel Music Awards, she provided a platform for gospel artists to shine, inspiring a new generation of musicians and fans alike.

Her warm and gentle voice on Ukhozi FM brought comfort and joy to countless listeners, making her a beloved fixture in many South African homes. Zanele's impact extended far beyond the airwaves, as she touched the lives of everyone she met with her kindness, compassion, and generosity.
