The veteran actor Patrick Shai who was well known for his excellent acting role in the soapies like The River, Hearts & minds, Cry, The Beloved Country, 7dee laan, Uzalo and Generation to name a few. The actor was reported that he took his own life. He committed suicide on 22 January 2022 he was 65 years old.
Kuli Roberts the media personality, South African presenter, journalist, actress and actor who also played on the well known mzansi soapies including The Queen, where she played as ‘Mildred Sefatsa’. According to report a close friend revealed to Citi Press Kuli collapse after suffering a seizure on the set of a shoot. She was 49.

The brother of the late rap ProKid, Sandile Mkhize known as Dj Citi Lyts was shot death in Soweto on the valentine’s day. The well known Dj for his hit songs ‘washa, Malambane and Vura’ passed away at the age of 32. He was described as someone who was humble and who loved his family.

Rikhado Muziwendlovu Makhado also known as Riky Rick passed away 23 February 2022 as he took his own life by hanging himself after a battle with depression. He died at the age of 34.
In early March news broke that Dj Dimples real name Tumi Mooi lost his life due to the brain haemorrhage as his family confirmed. He departed on earth 06 March 2022, he was 40.

The South African industry didn’t stop the mourning of their loved ones. The news of the passing of the celebrities were flowing like water. On the 15th of May the family of a well known and iconic gospel star singer announced the passing of Dr Deborah Fraser.

Dr Deborah (59) was a very famous South African singer. She recorded her first voice in the year of 2002. The album was a hit and touched around 1.5 billion copies. According to her family report, the singer passed away following a brief illness after having a major illness. She lost her life on 15 May at Chris Hani Baragwaneth hospital.
On the 23th May the etv announced the passing of Rhythm City actor James Bartlett who was popular known as David Genaro. James was born 06 July 1966 and died 23 May 2022 on his sleep.
The etv repeatedly announced another shocking news of the passing of Rhythm City actor Mcendisi Shabangu. Mcendisi Shabangu was a South African actor, playwright and theatre director, Mcendisi was known for his acting role name as Khululekani on Rhythm City. He died on the early hours on 24 July after complaining about chest pains , he was 53.

On the 8th November the South African industry heard the sadly news as it was trending on the news platform that the SABC has lost one of their anchor. The SABC News reader Pearl Shongwe was found death in her home in Polofieds North Johannesburg.
Her death was cardiac arrest which means he died on her sleep with no signs of injuries, she was 35.
Big Brother Mzansi 2022 contestants was confirmed that she died in the early hours of Sunday 13 November at Hillbrow Clinic. In a statement quoted to the Sowetanlive, “Dinkybliss” Potsane died at age 29 in the early hours on Sunday after a short illness, her management confirmed.
On the 20th November the entertainment industry wake up in the hurtful breaking news as the Amapiona artist DJ Sumbody together with his bodyguard were shot to death .

According to the reports, the well known amapiona hitmaker was shot while he was leaving the New Café in Woodmead to go to his next performance. He was 49.
More death of the well known people have shaken people since the year started.
