Kaizer Chiefs' highly-anticipated debut in their sleek new jersey ended in disappointment, as they suffered a humiliating 4-0 loss to Young Africans SC in the Toyota Cup final at Bloemfontein on Sunday.
In front of a sold-out crowd, Chiefs struggled to find their footing, conceding two goals in the first half courtesy of Prince Dube and Stephane Aziz Ki. The home team's fans were left stunned, expecting a stronger performance after their pre-season training in Turkey.
However, the halftime break brought some joy, as one lucky fan drove away in a brand new Toyota car.
But the second half only brought more misery for Chiefs, as Young Africans SC continued their dominance, scoring two more goals through Clement Mzize and Stephane Aziz Ki's brace. The final whistle blew, and Young Africans SC celebrated their convincing 4-0 win.
The defeat raises concerns for Kaizer Chiefs, who will need to regroup and refocus ahead of their next match.
