Meet Luvo Mlinjana, a rising star in the world of art who hails from a small rural community in Eastern Cape, Mthatha. Despite growing up in a small town with limited access to formal art education, Luvo's natural talent for drawing was evident from an early age. He spent his childhood sketching in the margins of his textbooks and creating cartoon drawings on any scrap of paper he could find.
As he grew older, Luvo's passion for art only intensified, leading him to explore different mediums and styles. With the support of his family, he began to share his work online, gaining a following and catching the attention of galleries and collectors alike. Today, Luvo is quickly making a name for himself as a talented and innovative artist, proving that creativity knows no bounds, regardless of one’s upbringing or location.
“I chose to be an artist because it has always been my passion, the feeling I get when I’m making a drawing for someone as well the reactions they make when they receive their drawings just warms my heart so much and plus its my happiest place” he said.
Luvo continued by saying that his goal is to have an art studio in his hometown, “although it might be far fetched but I'd like to open an art studio in my hometown, it would be to guide and develop the youth who are like me
because there are a lot of artistic people in my area but due to lack of resources they dont see drawing as something that one would make a living out of as well as having art gallery to showcase the works of the youth”.
