Miss Mncube went to clinic to get help as she had a problem with Chronic bleeding in her genitals. At the clinic they transferred her to Addington hospital situated in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal where she arrived and found the doctors that we cannot mention their name because of seriousness of the matter. The doctors insisted that Miss Mncube would be better if they do the operation.
It was September 2016 when they did the first operation. She came back on October 2016 to do another operation for the same sickness. Months after the surgery Miss Mncube started experiencing pains inside her stomach. She decided to visit the King Edward hospital and the doctors discovered that there is a complication from a surgical mess implant. “When I visited the King Edward hospital I was rushed to theatre where the doctors discovered that I had a surgical mess implant and the only good doctors that can do the operation are private doctors and I don’t have a money’’.
Miss Mncube added by saying she demand answers from Addington hospital as she was never told that she was having a surgical mesh product implanted inside her, “They did not inform me about the medication they gave me before and after the surgery, the mesh was in my stomach without my consent, I have terrible scars, the pain is unbearable, I deal with the pain every day, it has affected me in every way, sometimes my neighbours cook for me as I struggle, I’m even swelling up where they put the mesh”.
