Ntombikayise Cebisile Zwane from Pongola is a young make-up artist who discovered she has a talent to do different make-up. Ntombikayise resides in a small village known for its natural beauty and tranquil lifestyle. Belgrade, as it is popularly called, is a close-knit community that thrives on a sense of togetherness and unity. The village, nestled among rolling hills and picturesque landscapes, is home to many talented artists, musicians, and entrepreneurs. Its residents pride themselves on their unique cultural heritage, rich history, and vibrant traditions. In this small village, young Ntombikayise honed her skills as a makeup artist, inspired by the natural beauty of her surroundings and the creativity of her community.

Ntombikayise Cebisile Zwane, a rising star in the world of makeup artistry, owes much of her success to her early passion for art. As a child, she spent hours drawing and sketching anything that piqued her interest, from pretty flowers to cartoon characters. Her talent for creative subjects was undeniable, and she consistently excelled in her art classes, earning top grades and glowing praise from her teachers. However, as she explains, “I used to draw flowers and all the things I found interesting, even in creative art subjects, I used to pass with flying colour, I think the makeup habit grew within me there.” Later, she stumbled upon the makeup tutorials of award-winning content creator and makeup artist Mihlali Ndamase, whom she followed religiously. She started practicing her excellent born aptitude by doing her eyebrows several times, not realizing that it was the starting point of a journey that would see her become an accomplished makeup artist.

Miss Zwane’s journey to becoming a successful makeup artist hasn’t been without its challenges. As she explains, finding customers in the makeup industry can be tough, so she had to try other things for a living. However, she never lost sight of her passion, and in her spare time, she honed her skills by creating glamorous looks and doing bridal makeup for friends and family. While she doesn’t have a formal business yet, she dreams of one day owning her own makeup studio and serving clients at a professional level.

As for the makeup products she uses, Miss Zwane started out using fake products until she could afford the well-known brands. She admits that there is a difference between the fake and original ones, but for her, what matters most is that the makeup achieves the desired look and doesn’t harm her clients skin. However, dealing with clients who are used to cheaper, fake makeup can pose a challenge when charging her professional rate. Despite this, Miss Zwane remains determined to pursue her passion and even plans to continue studying and becoming an even more accomplished makeup artist.
